Because she raises and shows Australian Shepherds, Heidi is very familiar with the dog show scene and dogs in general, and that helps her bring out the best in the dogs she photographs. She also spent a good deal of her youth riding horses and participating in gymkhanas and rodeos, and she loves to photograph horses in action.

With her husband Randy, she enjoys birdwatching, and travels throughout the Quad-Cities area photographing wild birds and other beautiful wildlife and nature scenes.

A 15-year newspaper editor, Heidi is now an editorial manager who still keeps her hand in writing and photographing for Prescott Newspapers, Inc. She has also been published in the former Yavapai Magazine, and the national Wild Bird Magazine.
