(928) 772-1767 Sid Freeman is a lettering artist in both 2D and 3D materials. She is an active member in the Prescott Valley Art Guild, Jerome Artists Cooperative Gallery, Calligraphy Society of Arizona and the Wyoming Scribes. Sid has operated a commercial calligraphy business since 1987, working on special projects such as the Wyoming Governor’s Art Awards, the Federal Marshal’s Wyoming Territorial Proclamation, the Book of Life for the Jewish Community Foundation and the Wm. Booth inscription on the Prescott Salvation Army Mural. She has her work in many private collections as well as the Wyoming State Art Museum , the University of Wyoming Art Museum. Her work can also be seen at the Frame and I in Prescott , Arizona .
“Letters speak in texture, rhythm and history. I use those qualities to reveal them in metaphoric images and hope they allow the meaning to be understood as it was before it became attached to the symbology of language. Also juxtaposing quotes are also an exciting inspiration for me. Some complement each other and others energize a new significance through contradictions that are equally profound.” |
